For the last part of our inquiry “What Are You Listening To?” we had a team assessment task. The task was based on the music industry. The teams we where in had the roles of different people in the music industry. There was a Team Manager which was the CEO, The Music Production person, Art Department Head which I was, Promotional person, Artist/Singer and Lyricist. First we had to choose what song we where going to use for the song we had to make. We choose Tik Tok for our song and made lyrics to match it. WE had to make posters and promotional material to promote the video. I made a CD cover for the album and helped make the video montage for the song. In the end my group finished before all the other groups and on the due date.

I’m currently reading James And The Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. I think its a really good book. Its a bit weird and wacky but that’s the way I like the books I read. Currently I’m halfway through the book where they have set of in to the ocean in the giant peach. I really enjoyed the movie so i thought it would be about time to read the book. The story lines a bit weird and over board but still i recon its an alright book. There have been some great drawings through the book as well. I recon its a lot better to read than watching the movie. In conclusion i recon its an awesome book to read and i would suggest it to you. Well that’s all for now.

For one of our homework tasks is to do a personal research project. I choose to do mine on cycle speedway my favorite sport and thing to do on the weekend. I have been doing the sport for over nine years now and thought it would be good to find out more about it. There many things happening with this sport. Just recently Australia have persuaded New Zealand to create a track in Auckland. One person over there who has been in the sport for many years has been putting heaps and heaps of work with the person who was interested in making a track over there. Well i guess that’s it for now.

For homework for these couple of weeks we have to listen to a radio station that we don’t usually listen to for an hour or so. I normally listen to Triple J so I changed the station to SAFM. There where a lot of things different from Triple J to SAFM like the radio adds which Triple J doesn’t have. There where also a lot of different music as well. It was more main stream music unlike Triple J and they where mostly newer songs on the station. I think that there where a lot of difference between the two stations but I think I will stay with Triple J.

I chose to give up technology and furniture but found out that technology was too hard to do because of all the technology around. It started last night and I had to sleep on the floor and it hurt my back. N0w I no what its like for those people that are less fortunate. Even sitting on the floor hurts. I would like to know how people live like this everyday. I know that I wouldn’t be able to.

On Wednesday the 3rd of June we were given a task in groups of four or five people. The people in my group were honk123, aphropollo, lamba and zappy. The task was related to our inquiry unit who has the cultural power? It was to do a play on an aboriginal dream time story. My groups dream time story was how the kangaroos got there tails. We were given most of last week to do this task. i was a bee in the performance. On Monday we did a rehearsal in front of my class and net door, LA20. Today we performed to LA20 and La5 and La6. They were also giving us a score on how entertaining etc.

My thoughts after this task are i think it was really fun and enjoyable. My favorite parts of this activity were making the props and performing the play. The learning i gained from this dream time story are how the kangaroos got there tails and to share with other people. I think I wouldn’t of got this task done if didn’t work with a group. I learn best in a group i found out during this task.

Reconstructing: Drawing a conclusionb on your understanding of the situation, incident, event or issue. Developing a futre action plan from this.

After watching Rabbit-Proof Fence my conclusion is I didnt think that the government would do somthing like thta to people. I dont think that the government would really do something like that. They can here but the Aboriginals were already here. Shouldnt they give them some respect since they rocked up here. Also after we finished watching the movie it anwsered alot of questions i had.

I think that the community can make a change by giving the aboriginal people more respect. I also think that the government could make a program that could give back to the aboriginals for the things that they have done and taken from thier. I dont think that the government was right with what they had done.

The past weekend i went to Blanchtown for our yearly air camp. The reason why its called air camp is beacause we go up in a glider and go flying for 20 mins. Its at Armstrong air base and its on a private farm. Its owned by a person but the scouts rent part of it for the air base. When you go up in the glider you also get to take control for 10 mins or so. This was my second time on the camp. I thought it was better than last year. This year it was freezing though. It was 2 degrees at night. Every year we also go on a trailer out in the scrub and try to find rabbits, kangaroos, wombats and other animals. This year we only saw one kangaroo but it was on the other side of the fence so we couldnt chase after it. Also we only saw rabbits and no wombats this year. Last year we nearly ran over a wombat!

My thinking has changed a lot over my experience at camp. One of the things that has changed my was when Uncle Wally bought in some of his hunting equipment. I found all of that has changed my thinking a lot especially the boomerang that was shaped like an Emus head. The way that they catch it was really interesting as well. I also didn’t relies that the food that Aboriginals eat are a lot diffrent and the way they live. The food that they eat if we tryed some it would affect our body and possibly make us really sick. They learn to grow up with their food, hunting skills and we dont grow up with that stuff. Thier body are diffrent to ours so thats why their food will make us very sick.
